LUNEX Sport Science student gets PhD scholarship at London South Bank University
Sport Science master student Jil Bosquée has been accepted for a 3-year contract at the LSBU (London South Bank University), one of the top universities in London, United Kingdom. She will assist Prof. Kiros Karamanidis in his research about fall resisting skills training, funded by the Deutsche Gesetzliche Unfallversicherung.
Kiros Kamanidis is a professor of Aging and Exercice science from London South Bank University, School of Applied Sciences and a guest lecturer for the Sport and Exercise Master programme at LUNEX University. His background includes research in Sport and Clinical Biomechanics, Neurophysiology and classic Biology. Among other lines of research, he focuses on the development of the muscle-tendon-unit across the life span and fall risk reduction in the older population.
This scholarship focuses on occupational health and aims to increase safety in working environments. Researchers will use virtual and augmented reality to disturb human gait with obstacles and improve their fall resistance skills. Moreover, this project will also analyse the effect of carrying loads during gait tasks. Indeed, most of the time, you carry something in the cinders, the movement of the upper trunk and the arm.

Studying the Master in Sport and Exercise Science at LUNEX has been a great preparation for this adventure since all courses were hold in small classes which enabled me to ask more precise questions.
