Experience sports at the heart of nature:
What does Differdange have to offer?
Situated in the south of the country, in the valley of the river Chiers, Differdange is the third largest city in Luxembourg, with 27,000 residents. Today, the former steel town is still an important industrial hub; ArcelorMittal, the world’s leading steel manufacturer, is based here. Nonetheless, Differdange is considered a green city, due to its sustainable and environmentally friendly projects. Differdange was also awarded the title European City of Sports in 2018.
There’s a lot to see and do
Among the remarkable sights the town has to offer, two particularly stand out: the Maison de Soins de Differdange, a former Cistercian abbey, and Differdange Castle, which is currently used by Miami University (Oxford, Ohio). In Differdange, sports enthusiasts will find everything their hearts desire: The countryside is ideal for outdoor activities, the town has a wide range of sports clubs and, last but not least, LUNEX University is located at the heart of the Differdange Sports Park.
